The history of Ramanattukara Service Co-optative Bank started with the formation of “Aikya Nanaya Sangham”(unlimited) at Kottamangalam in Velipram Sector of Ramanattukara Village in 1962, under the leadership of Sri. Kanarutty Menon.Later on Sri. Velayudhan Nair and Sri. Sri T. P. Kutti Krishnan were the President and Secretary respectively. Afterwards some crisis occurred in the running of “Aikya nanaya Sangham” , it became a limited company and Sri. T.P. Kutti Krishnan took the charge of President, who take the lead to build an Office Building right where the present Head Office of the Ramanattukara Service Co-optative Bank functioning . After the resignation of Sri T P Kutti Krishnan from the Presidentship , this position was held by Sri Gopalan Kutty Menon , Sri. Balakrishna Menon, and Sri . M K Radhakrishna Menon consecutively and Sri Mohan Das ,Sri Gopalan, Sri Appukkuttan were the Secretaries during the period. After twenty years of Presidentship of Sri Radhakrishna Menon this position was adorned by Sri Palliyali Sreedharan,Sri K. Manukkuttan,Prof. Salim and Dr. K M Ramachandran. At present Sri Vijayan P Menon leading the Bank as Chairman with thirty years of experience in the Director Board and Sri Rajan is the General Manager. Vijayan P Menon now adorn the positions of Scretary, Kozhikode Thaluk Kerala Primary Co-operative Societies Association & Vice Prasident of Kozikode District Co-operative Press This Bank is now in a developing stage with Six branches including a branch for Women in addition to the Head Office. Along with the Banking function the Ramanattukara Service Co-optative Bank is obligated to serve the common people and its members with many social service activities. A Neethi Medical Lab and a Medical shop are being run under the RSCB. Many schemes for making awareness the farmers are also implemented by the Bank. An agricultural Service Centre also opened attached to Head Office as an outlet for good quality seeds, seedlings,manure and agricultural tools. Nowadays Social Security Pensions,K S R T C pensions etc., are disbursed through this Bank by advancing the fund. During financial crisis We lend a hand to Government by providing good support.The Bank is also supporting the entrepreneurs like Uralungal Labour Contract Society by offering deposits through consortium. The bank is also involved many activities with social commitements. we provide drinking water to the people during summer season when thare is searcity of drinking water. Thare also supplying Newspappers & journals to the schools
